Refund Policy

This Refund Policy applies to all purchases, subscriptions, and transactions made through the LookupVIN website at lookupvin.us (the "Service"), operated by FILINGS LLC. By purchasing a report, starting a trial, or subscribing to the Service, you agree to the terms of this Refund Policy.

1. Subscription and Trial Terms

LookupVIN offers a 3-day trial for $1.00, which includes access to your first vehicle history report. After the trial period ends, your subscription automatically renews at $29.00 per month unless cancelled before the trial expires.

By subscribing, you authorize us and our payment processor to charge your selected payment method for all applicable fees, taxes, and other charges in accordance with the pricing and plan terms presented at checkout.

2. General Refund Policy

All charges are generally non-refundable once a vehicle history report has been accessed or generated, or once a service has been delivered. Because reports are digital products that are delivered immediately upon purchase, the value of the service is received at the time of delivery.

You acknowledge and agree that:

• vehicle history reports are digital products delivered instantly upon generation;
• once a report is generated or accessed, the service has been fully rendered;
• reports are compiled from third-party data sources and may not contain every record related to a vehicle;
• the absence of a record in a report does not constitute a defect in the service; and
• dissatisfaction with the contents or completeness of a report is not grounds for a refund.

3. Trial Fee

The $1.00 trial fee is non-refundable once your vehicle history report has been generated. The trial fee covers the cost of accessing your first report and is charged at the time of signup.

4. Monthly Subscription

Subscription charges are billed in advance on a monthly basis and are non-refundable. We do not offer prorated refunds for unused portions of a billing cycle. Upon cancellation, your access continues until the end of the then-current billing period.

5. Additional Report Purchases

Additional per-report purchases are non-refundable once the report has been generated or accessed.

6. Limited Exceptions

Refund requests may be considered on a case-by-case basis only in the following circumstances:

• Duplicate charges: If you were charged more than once for the same transaction due to a system error.
• Service failure: If a verified technical issue on our end materially prevented delivery of a paid report and the issue could not be resolved.
• Unauthorized charges: If you can demonstrate that a charge was made without your authorization, subject to verification.

Refund eligibility is determined at our sole discretion. If approved, refunds are issued to the original payment method and may take 5–10 business days to appear on your statement.

7. What Is Not Eligible for a Refund

Refunds will not be issued for:

• dissatisfaction with the content, completeness, or accuracy of a vehicle history report;
• failure to cancel before the trial period ended or before a renewal date;
• entering an incorrect VIN (you are responsible for verifying the VIN before submitting);
• unused subscription time remaining after cancellation;
• claims that you did not read, understand, or agree to the pricing, billing terms, or auto-renewal terms disclosed at checkout;
• a decision not to purchase a vehicle after reviewing the report; or
• any reason not described under Section 6 above.

8. Chargebacks and Billing Disputes

If you believe a charge is incorrect, we strongly encourage you to contact us first at support@lookupvin.us so we can attempt to resolve the issue directly.

Initiating a chargeback or payment dispute with your bank or card issuer without first contacting us may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account and loss of access to all reports and services. We reserve the right to dispute chargebacks that we believe are unwarranted and to provide evidence of the transaction, service delivery, and your acceptance of these terms to the relevant financial institution.

Filing a fraudulent chargeback (i.e., disputing a legitimate charge that you authorized) may constitute fraud and may be reported to applicable authorities.

9. Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting support. Upon cancellation, you will retain access to the Service until the end of your current billing period. No further charges will be made after cancellation takes effect.

Cancellation does not entitle you to a refund for any amounts already charged.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. Updated terms become effective when posted. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
